RECONNECT Dive Deep 2026 brought the PeopleSoft community together to explore what customers can accomplish today and where we are investing next. Held virtually October 19–23, the conference drew registrations from more than 2,095 customers representing 123 organizations, along with 51 partners.
The conference opened with the Executive Update, where Jon Vaughn, CEO of Quest Oracle Community, introduced Alex Man, Group Vice President of Application Development and the new leader of Oracle’s PeopleSoft business. Alex shared his priorities for PeopleSoft, and I followed with highlights of capabilities we have recently delivered, and investments planned for the next 12 to 18 months.
Together, our updates focused on helping customers get more from the PeopleSoft systems they rely on every day, strengthen security, and explore practical uses of AI while planning their Oracle applications future.
Leadership Continuity and Customer Priorities
In his first RECONNECT as the leader of Oracle’s PeopleSoft business, Alex recognized Paco Aubrejuan’s contributions following his retirement after 18 years of leadership at Oracle. Alex also brings a long history with PeopleSoft, having started as a developer in 1994. His experience spans development, product management, architecture, and leadership, giving him a broad understanding of both the applications and the customers who depend on them.
Alex’s priorities build on that experience, with an emphasis on investing in what matters to customers, streamlining operations, and reducing unnecessary work.
- Keep improving the PeopleSoft systems customers use today. Reliable fixes, security updates, and regulatory changes remain essential, alongside continued improvements to Landing Pages, dashboards, WorkCenters, and the Taskflow Framework. Alex also emphasized listening to customer feedback on everyday tools such as PS/Query, Classic pages, Tree Manager, and nVision. These are areas where targeted improvements can make a difference in daily work.
- Make AI practical for PeopleSoft. PeopleTools 8.63 capabilities, including Application Designer AI Assist, Natural Language Search, and the PeopleTools MCP server, provide a foundation for customers and partners to build AI experiences. Expanding REST services will create more opportunities to connect those experiences to PeopleSoft with appropriate security and controls.
- Help customers plan their Oracle applications future. Alex encouraged customers to evaluate Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications and develop a plan that fits their organization. That planning can happen alongside continued PeopleSoft investment, backed by Premier Support through at least 2037. He also highlighted exploration of how AI could help customers better understand their existing PeopleSoft environments as part of that evaluation.
Turning Priorities into PeopleSoft Investments
Building on Alex’s priorities, I shared how our recent deliveries and roadmap investments support the people who use, manage, and maintain PeopleSoft. The focus is on improvements customers can put to work: making daily tasks easier, strengthening operational security, and providing the technology to support new capabilities.
Making Everyday Work Easier
Modernizing the PeopleSoft experience starts with helping users see what needs attention and act on it. Landing Pages, WorkCenters, and Notification Composer bring relevant information and actions into the flow of work. Notification Publisher complements these capabilities by giving business users a way to communicate important updates and reminders. Together, these tools help users spend less time finding work and more time completing it.
Planned Landing Page enhancements and dashboards will build on that foundation. We are also extending this approach to processes that involve multiple steps and people through the Taskflow Framework. Its first applications, Period Close Monitor for FSCM and Payroll Monitor for HCM, are planned for delivery by the end of 2026, with a focus on improving visibility into these critical business processes.
Keeping Security a Priority
Keeping PeopleSoft secure requires ongoing attention from Oracle and our customers. Staying current on supported technology and applying security updates promptly are essential parts of maintaining a healthy environment. Customers should also periodically review the products and features they use for components that are no longer supported, because those areas are no longer being scanned or patched by Oracle.
Our security patching roadmap focuses on making that work easier to manage. Investments in patch visibility, more predictable patching, increased automation, and environment health assessments are intended to help customers understand what needs attention and maintain their systems more effectively.
Practical AI Capabilities for PeopleSoft
PeopleTools 8.63, now generally available for on-premises installation, provides building blocks for AI-enabled experiences. Our investment focuses on AI infrastructure rather than embedding AI directly into the applications. Capabilities such as Application Designer AI Assist, Natural Language Search Service, and the PeopleTools MCP server give customers more choice and control over their AI architecture while maintaining PeopleSoft security.
Planned REST services for core business objects will extend that foundation and give customers and partners more ways to connect PeopleSoft information and processes to AI-enabled applications. This approach allows organizations to explore AI in the context of their own business needs and technology choices.
