We’re excited to introduce a powerful new enhancement in PeopleSoft Asset Management—the ability to scan asset codes with your mobile device camera.  This new feature brings built-in mobile scanning to PeopleSoft, allowing you to use the native camera on any mobile device to scan QR codes or bar codes. No extra hardware, apps, or integrations are needed.

With this enhancement, you can scan asset tags directly into mobile PeopleSoft and immediately access asset details, maintenance schedules, or work orders—all from a single, streamlined experience. It’s fast, intuitive, and designed to work wherever you are.

Print QR and Bar Codes Without Leaving PeopleSoft

The first step in streamlining asset tracking is generating the tags. Now, you can print asset QR or bar codes directly from PeopleSoft. Just search for the assets you want to tag, choose whether to scan by tag number or serial ID, and select your preferred code type and print size.

Scan for Two Core Processes: Physical Inventory and Asset Lookup

Once your assets are tagged, scanning them into PeopleSoft is easy—and useful in two important ways.

  • For Physical Inventory, use the Physical Inventory tile on the Asset Tracking homepage to scan each asset into your inventory list using your mobile device’s camera.  As each tag is scanned, a confirmation appears, and the asset is added to your list. You can edit asset info immediately and view your full scan history on the same screen.
  • For Asset Lookup, select the Scan Asset or Scan by Location tile to quickly access asset records on the go. Scan the tag, and you’ll instantly see key details—asset description, maintenance history, and open work orders. This feature supports field teams and technicians who need fast access to asset data without returning to a workstation.

No Extra Tools Needed—It’s All Native to PeopleSoft
