Challenges in the Back Office

As the parent company of five established brands, including PeopleReady, TrueBlue was faced with a major challenge—streamlining 20+ different technology approaches into one cloud solution. With data and processes sitting on expiring systems such as Infor Lawson, Adaptive, BlackLine, and Workday, TrueBlue was feeling bogged down and went looking for a smart fix. Lacking any existing integrations suggesting a logical way forward, the executive team sought a solution that could broadly support the business and increase productivity. They wanted to create more cohesion between their people, revenue, and growth strategies without spending a lot of time making the technology work.


Selecting a More Complete Solution

To better align people strategy to support their business priorities, including mergers & acquisitions, TrueBlue selected Oracle HCM Cloud, Oracle ERP Cloud, and Oracle EPM Cloud. Gaining a holistic view of workforce data in one place was key to their decision, along with Oracle’s simple and intuitive self-service capabilities, embedded artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning. TrueBlue chose Oracle over Workday to integrate their back office in the cloud, and cut loose their on-premises systems entirely.



Because millennials comprise more than half of their employees, TrueBlue wanted to meet the expectations of their digital-savvy teams by deploying a mobile-responsive, consumer-like enterprise experience. Employees can now access their data with the click of a button, from any device, seamlessly. Leaders can access embedded analytics to help make important decisions, while HR and Finance can make better plans around headcount and budgeting. The company’s CFO, Derrek Gafford, reports that productivity has increased not only in the back office, but in customer-facing roles as well now that people have access to data. Today, TrueBlue is truly connected enterprise in the cloud, and more able than ever to focus on their vision of changing the world of work.
