Empowered by Design Award Winner: Judy Fimiani, CHRO, Learning Care Group

Involving your employees is a surefire way to position your Oracle Cloud HCM implementation at the top of the class. When your employees are teachers and daycare professionals, you can learn a lot!

As a leader in the Early Childhood Education industry, the Learning Care Group identified the need to upgrade its legacy HR systems and associated business processes to modernize its employee and customer experiences. The company saw Oracle Cloud HCM as the ideal solution for its long-term vision and growth, given its strong infrastructure, cost-effectiveness, and acceleration of day-to-day processes.

For CHRO Judy Fimiani, employee involvement was a crucial component in the Learning Care Group’s implementation process. Believing that a differentiated employee experience was essential to creating a lasting digital culture, Fimiani and the company’s leadership team (with help from Deloitte Consulting) were quick to get solid input from a cross-section of the employee base when drawing up their implementation plans. Based on what they learned, the team established a clear set of program-level guiding principles that put the employee experience in the front row. They carefully proposed a set of measurable metrics and created a sustainable implementation strategy based on gold-star-worthy design thinking and an iterative product development framework.

Fimiani had a knack for bringing key stakeholders together early and often to streamline execution, minimize escalations, and maintain a focus on creating an excellent end-to-end employee experience. To make sure all voices were heard throughout the initiative, the team named the project LCG360 and held monthly sessions with field leaders and experts to get prompt employee feedback and provide weekly updates to executive leadership. The team was a quick study and, through focus and hard work, successfully implemented Oracle Cloud HCM, providing Learning Care Group with the technology to attract and retain top teachers, train and manage their licensing certifications, and provide easy access to essential information.

This implementation isn’t the first time employees have been at the center of the company’s approach to business improvements. Every fall, the company’s Back to School campaign is designed by employees and features organization-wide meetings to introduce new company initiatives and prepare directors for the upcoming school year. By creating programs that lead to stellar experiences for children and their families, the Learning Care Group is continuously transforming its processes to create the best possible environment for both its customers and its employees.

Next on the lesson plan? Deploying the ERP component. Given the company’s strong team culture and commitment to delivering a top-of-the-line employee experience, we’re certain the Learning Care Group will earn straight A’s.
