Oracle Permitting and Licensing 24B was released on April 5, 2024. This release includes new features from each of our offerings: Permits, Planning and Zoning, Code Enforcement, and Business Licenses.
Many new features are in 24B including –
Permitting and Licensing Common: Enforcement of Required Documents
Starting in 24B, the system now checks for the presence of attachments with the “required” category or “required” category and subcategory pair. An error will display if the required documents are not added to the application at intake. This allows agencies to o ensure proper documentation is provided before submitting and application, making the process much more efficient.
The list of Required Documents appears on the application intake form and the Attachments page in the application details after submittal. The list displays the category and application step requirements and whether the attachment has been added.
The example below shows the Required Documents grid as viewed by agency staff with permissions to override the upload.

Business Licenses: Confidential Attachments for Business Licenses
You can provide your business license applicants the option to mark attachments, such as tax information, as confidential to limit access to the information. When registered public users upload a confidential document during application intake, only agency staff with permission, the applicant(s), and the contacts with application access can view the confidential attachments.
Code Enforcement: Redwood Experience for Code Enforcement Public Users
All pages used by public users for reporting an issue, tracking an issue, and paying for citations are now built with Oracle’s award winning, consumer grade user experience. The redesigned pages provide the same functional capability as the classic system but now they look better, are more intuitive to use, and fully extensible using Visual Builder Studio.

Permitting and Licensing Common: Inspections with Unannounced Inspector Arrival
You can now configure your inspection types to be hidden from public user view in the application until the inspector has submitted the results.
This is handy, for example, with Health and Safety inspections. If your Health and Safety inspection is set up as an unannounced or a surprise inspection, the public user will not see the scheduled inspection. Once the inspector completes the unannounced inspection, and provides the results, the applicant or other contacts with application access can see the inspection details and results.
You can configure these types of inspections when you create your inspection type. On the Inspection Type Details page, you can enable the Unannounced switch to create this type of inspection.
