Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.5.0.22 download available on My Oracle Support

If you have been following the EM releases for a while, you are familiar with Release Updates (RUs). RUs are the agile way to roll out new EM features and bug fixes, you don’t have to wait for a major release. RUs are versioned with a trailing digit indicating the RU version. Note that RUs are cumulative, which means that the most recent RU includes functionality from all previous release updates. Our general recommendation is to apply the most current RU as soon as possible.

Download the latest RU from My Oracle Support:  see the EM 13.5 list of RUs, including plug-ins, in Doc ID 2760230.2 and a complete list of multiple versions of RUs and PSUs in Doc ID 1605609.1

Key updates in Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.5 RU22

Highlights of Enterprise Manager 13.5 RU22 include the following:

OL9/RHEL9 Certification

We are happy share that starting with this release, the OMS and Agent are certified on Linux x86-64 Oracle Linux 9 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Again, you do have to deploy RU22 or higher on these platforms.

Cross Platform Enterprise Manager Repository Database Migration

As business requirements change, especially with increased migration of systems to cloud, data migration has become an even more critical operation. The Oracle Enterprise Manager repository database contains essential metadata, performance, and configuration data that allow effective monitoring and management. One of the major enhancements in this release reduces the complexity of the EM repository database migration. You can now perform cross platform Enterprise Manager repository database migration using a new utility called RepMigrate.  This utility is using the Oracle Data Pump technology which enables a high-speed transfer of data from one database to another, across various platforms and endian architectures.

The RepMigrate utility, shipped as a RepMigrate.zip file, is included with this release update files, version 13.5.0.22. Be sure to check the platforms supported in the EM certification matrix.

Holistic Patching

This release also introduces Holistic Patching, a more efficient way to manage the Enterprise Manager security updates, Critical Patch Updates (CPU).  A consolidated bundle of patches helps streamline the patching process, minimize the downtime, and improve the security of your systems.

These CPUs are applied using the OMSPatcher utility (omspatcher).  The patching process guides you though an analysis step (to ensure that there are no conflicts), an application step (to install the patches) and a verification step (to ensure that the patches were applied and recorded correctly).

  • Failed Hints: Displays a list of hints intended for the SQL execution but were not used by the database.
  • Successful Hints: Displays a list of hints that were successfully applied on the SQL execution.
