MySQL Belgian Days returns to Brussels on January 28–29, 2027, just before FOSDEM!
Registration and the Call for Papers are now open, so save the dates, plan your trip, and consider sharing your experience with the community.
Join us for two days of technical sessions, community discussions, and face-to-face conversations with MySQL engineers, contributors, developers, and DBAs.
Two days dedicated to MySQL and its community
As MySQL continues to evolve, community participation and open collaboration are central to the conversation. This year’s event will focus on MySQL Community Edition, the wider MySQL ecosystem, and the move toward a more open innovation and development process.
Expect practical technical content covering performance, optimization, high availability, application development, observability, and new Community Edition capabilities. Alongside the technical sessions, we’ll explore how developers and contributors can take part in shaping MySQL’s future.
Whether you build applications, operate databases, develop tools, or contribute to MySQL, this is an opportunity to exchange ideas, ask questions, and learn from others working with the technology every day.
Call for Papers
Have a useful technical insight, an interesting project, or a lesson learned in production? We’d love to hear from you.
This is one of the major MySQL events of the year. We are looking for high quality talks about MySQL Community Edition and surrounding technologies: forks of MySQL, management or development tools, clients, plugins and other extensions. What is commonly called the MySQL ecosystem.
The conference agenda is divided into 8 blocks: 2 days, 2 parallel tracks, morning and afternoon. Each track will be hosted by a different track host and have some uniform theme or focus.
This year the focus is specifically on open source versions of MySQL and the shift to an open innovation process (aka github first development). Non-technical talks about the development process, community, etc… will also be considered to a limited degree.
We will mostly prefer technical talks about features, products and tools that are available as open source. Proposing talks about proprietary tools that are relevant in the MySQL ecosystem is allowed, but in this case it is a mandatory requirement that the software that is the subject of the talk is already GA and in production.
We welcome proposals on topics such as:
- Demos, introductions to specific features, tips & tricks
- MySQL performance, optimization, and scaling
- High availability, replication, and observability
- Application development, tools, clients, plugins, and extensions
- Real-world use cases and migration experiences
- MySQL Community Edition features and ecosystem innovation
- Community collaboration and the open development process
Submit your proposal by November 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CET.
