While some of our August events were featured in our previous event update, we’ve included them here again with the latest information. Whether you’re interested in learning about MySQL 9.7 LTS, exploring the latest features in MySQL 26.7, meeting members of the MySQL team, attending a local user group meetup, or connecting with the broader open source and developer community, here’s where you can find us over the next three months. 

Conferences and Community Events 

RMOUG MySQL 9.7 New Features Educational Workshop, August 4, 2026 | Denver, Colorado, USA 

  • Join RMOUG and the MySQL Community Team for a MySQL 9.7 New Features Educational Workshop in Denver at Daniel’s Fund Meeting Space, 101 Monroe Street, Denver, CO 80206.  
  • The workshop will include sessions on MySQL 9.7 LTS, the next phase of MySQL open innovation, Community Edition improvements, and MySQL as a foundation for modern AI applications.

MySQL Contributor Summit, August 5–6, 2026 | Broomfield, Colorado, USA 

  • The next MySQL Contributor Summit will take place on August 5–6 in Broomfield, Colorado, continuing the technical discussions and collaboration started during the May Contributor Summit. The Summit will bring together MySQL contributors, community members, ecosystem partners, and Oracle MySQL engineering to discuss feature proposals, roadmap priorities, design questions, GitHub collaboration, governance, and practical next steps for community contributions. The agenda will focus on technical, discussion-oriented sessions around proposed MySQL features and improvements, with the goal of moving from ideas toward actionable collaboration. Taipei MySQL Community Meetup, August 7, 2026 | Taipei, Taiwan 

  • Join us in Taipei for a MySQL Community Meetup with Ryusuke Kajiyama, Master Principal Sales Consultant, Oracle. 
    • Session: A New Chapter for MySQL: MySQL 26.7 New Features and Community Collaboration 
    • This session introduces key new features in MySQL 26.7, including undo log truncation, InnoDB recovery and metadata infrastructure, replication improvements, Group Replication communication stack updates, OpenSSL 3.5 post-quantum cryptography support, upgrade and compatibility check progress reporting, and the Thread Pool Plugin in MySQL Community Server.

MySQL will be part of POUG 2026, the Polish Oracle User Group annual conference.

  • Join us at the MySQL BR Conference, a MySQL-focused community event organized by the Brazilian MySQL User Group. 
  • Oracle MySQL will be present as a Gold Sponsor, with strong participation from the MySQL team. Heather VanCura, Vice President of External Standards and Community Engagement at Oracle, will deliver a keynote, and local Oracle MySQL technical speakers are expected to present additional sessions. International JavaScript Conference, September 28–October 2, 2026 | New York, USA 

  • MySQL will be present at the International JavaScript Conference in New York with a booth and a technical session by Scott Stroz. 
    • Session: No SQL Required: Building MySQL-Powered RESTful Services with Node.js 
    • Speaker: Scott Stroz, Principal Data Engineer 
      • This session will show how to enhance Node.js applications by integrating MySQL’s REST service to create robust RESTful APIs without writing SQL. Attendees will learn how to set up and use MySQL’s native REST capabilities for seamless CRUD operations directly from Node.js applications. Session times will be listed in EDT once the final agenda is available. 

OSC2026 Tokyo Fall Online, October 2–3, 2026 | Online 

  • MySQL will participate in OSC2026 Tokyo Fall Online with a virtual talk.

Community Over Code, October 11–14, 2026 | Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom 

  • Heather VanCura will also participate in Community over Code 2026 in Glasgow as part of her EMEA and LAD community activities. 
  • While this is not a MySQL-specific conference, it is an important open source community event, and Heather will deliver a keynote focused on open source community collaboration and engagement.

All Things Open 2026, October 19–20, 2026 | Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

MySQL User Group Meetups and Regional Community Activities 

Brazil MySQL Community Activities, September 22–27, 2026 | Brazil 

During Heather VanCura’s visit to Brazil, we are planning several MySQL community and customer activities. 

Current plans include a joint Java User Group and MySQL User Group meetup on the evening of September 24, customer visits or roundtable discussions on September 24 or 25, and participation in the MySQL BR Conference on September 26.

London MySQL Community Activity, September 29, 2026 | London, United Kingdom 

We are planning a MySQL community activity in London on September 29 during Heather VanCura’s visit. 

The event is expected to focus on MySQL Community updates, roadmap transparency, GitHub collaboration, contribution opportunities, and technical content. We are also exploring possible customer meetings or a small roundtable during the day.

Germany MySQL / Community Activities, October 1–2, 2026 | Germany 

Heather VanCura will be in Germany in early October for community and ecosystem activities, including the JCP Executive Committee Face-to-Face meeting in Walldorf hosted by SAP. 

We are also exploring possible MySQL-related customer or community discussions in the Frankfurt, Heidelberg, or Walldorf area.

Amsterdam Database / MySQL Meetup, October 8, 2026 | Amsterdam, Netherlands 

We are planning a MySQL community meetup in Amsterdam on October 8 at the Oracle office. 

The meetup is expected to include MySQL Community updates from Heather VanCura and a technical session suitable for a database-focused audience. We are also exploring potential customer and ecosystem discussions around this visit.
