At Oracle NetSuite, it’s our passionate people that make the world of technology go round. Heather Miller, vice president of global customer success for NetSuite GBU, shares why it’s so important to cultivate teams that love what they do.
Tell us about your team and what they do.
Our global customer success organization consists of a team of consultants worldwide who provide activation and consulting services to a wide range of NetSuite customers. My department consists of two main teams—our North America Shared Resource Team of consulting professionals in the early development of their careers, and our Global Customer Success Operations team that supports enablement, scheduling, planning, and analysis.
We emphasize career development by explaining how to continuously acquire and utilize skills. This allows employees to grow and map out a career that works for them while delighting our internal and external customers.
We have a tremendous culture that emphasizes collaboration, inclusion, and innovation. A culture that gives back internally with employee interest groups, coaching, and mentoring programs, as well as externally into our communities with volunteer initiatives and events.
What is your long-term vision for your team?
Our vision is to bring NetSuite’s value to our customers by providing engaging, professional services from our global delivery team. The way we do this is by attracting and developing world class consulting professionals who have an eagerness to learn, expand, and grow with us. Customer satisfaction is always at the forefront of our overall mission.
What roles are you currently hiring for on your team?
We’re hiring across the board—consultants, project managers, instructors, operations, enablement, and other customer success professionals. All levels from entry to experienced consultants will be considered, alongside people looking for a change in career or who’re trying to re-enter the workforce after taking time away.
We also offer several development programs from campus hiring with our CSADP (Customer Success Associate Development Program), to our veteran hiring with our Customer Success SuiteVets Development Program and our CAP (Consulting Apprentice Program).
While we hire across the globe, we’re currently focusing a lot of attention on growing our teams located in Canada, Brazil, the Philippines, and the United States.
Are there any specific skillsets someone who is considering applying should have?
Accounting, ERP, supply chain, business process, and technical skills are a great advantage in many of our roles. I strongly believe that you need to enjoy and bring passion to work, that being passion for delighting customers, passion for learning new skills, and passion for collaborating with an amazing team of other motivated people.
What do people like most about being part of your team?
Over the last 17 years I have helped NetSuite grow our practice and develop many consultants’ careers. While I’m a huge fan of the product, I can say that people are by far the best part of my job. From the people that I work with to the customers we delight, people are key to our positive growth as a customer success organization.
