Coming from a consultancy background, Aarti Pandit joined the Oracle Banking Digital Experience (OBDX) team as a Senior UX Designer to gain experience on how the product lifecycle works and to gain insight into the financial domain. What else has she gotten out of it? Find out in our Q&A below.
How’s it like to work in the OBDX team?
I have the opportunity to work on challenging projects with a team of smart, vastly experienced people. My work involves collaborating with product managers and developers, and converting business ideas into high-fidelity wireframes and information architecture, thus defining the entire workflow for banking solutions.
Oracle gives me the freedom to be creative, to excel in my work, and to be flexible to balance work, home, and family. I’m an avid marathoner and Oracle provides me with the time and space to work on my personal goals.
Tell us more about the meaningful work that you do.
Every day I work on making corporate bankers’ lives easier, trying to fit into their shoes. My job involves turning complex problems into viable, easy solutions. I build digital solutions by implementing user-centric design principles across modules like Supply Chain, Virtual Account, and Trade Finance for our Corporate Banking product.
How’s the culture and work environment in your team?
It's healthy and competitive; we exchange ideas and criticize each other’s work (in the bargain, we enrich ourselves). I get to interact with fresh-out-of-college graduates and their enthusiasm rubs off on all of us; I also have 50-year-olds in my team who bring valuable experience to the table. This always gives me opportunities to learn new things and polish my creative skills.
What career opportunities are available in your team?
There are immense opportunities to learn about the banking domain in the areas of product and customer origination, retail banking, and the entire suite of corporate banking products.
