Oracle interns come from all walks of life and all kinds of backgrounds, from the technical to the non-technical. The one thing that unites them all, however, is the breadth of opportunities and inclusion they find.
And that’s just scratching the surface. We caught up with some of our latest interns about their experiences at the forefront of cloud and AI to learn how they’ve transformed their careers.

Close-knit family
When it comes to choosing an internship, the dynamic nature of the industry and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology are key attractions. Jeffrey Malcolm Jr., one of our software engineering interns, sums it up perfectly: “It’s refreshing to be part of an organization where innovation and collaboration are encouraged, Oracle feels more like a close-knit family than a workplace. This culture not only motivates me to do my best but also makes me feel valued and supported.”
Jackson Lawrence joined us in June and continues to appreciate the experience. “My team has really gone out of their way to give me valuable work that will be used within the organization,” he shares.
Building confidence, learning skills
It seems simple, but it makes a huge difference to career confidence. During their time here, interns get to make a tangible impact on team success. Jackson, who participated in the Idea-a-thon Hackathon hosted by our Fusion team, gained valuable experience putting his skills to use.

And he’s not alone. “I have received really great mentorship from my coworkers, mentors and my fellow teammates,” Business Analyst Intern, Becky Zhu explains. “That helps me a lot in terms of understanding the business and improving my skills.” The program has also given our interns a taste of what awaits them at Oracle. “I came back from a business trip with my team a few days ago,” Becky shares. “It was my first business trip, and it was so exciting to go to the Denver office and meet coworkers and senior leaders.”
It’s this dynamic nature that keeps interns engaged. Raksheet Kota, another software engineering intern, remarks on Oracle’s prominent presence in the tech landscape: “I feel like everywhere you look; you can see Oracle’s footprint.”
Years in the game
And it’s one of the many things that Jackson loves about Oracle: “When a business is doing this for this long, and they’re staying relevant with everything within AI or technology that’s happening, you want to come and be a part of that!”
A big part of our program is giving interns the skills they need to keep on creating the future of technology long after their internship ends. “One of the best parts of the internship has to be the real-world applicability,” Jackson adds. “To hear from my manager that my work will be used by other people within Oracle is an indescribable feeling.”

The opportunity to collaborate with established professionals and learn from their years of experience is invaluable. “Oracle has really passionate people who have a lot of years in the game and really know what they’re doing,” Raksheet adds.
Oracle culture places huge value on inclusion and the same goes for our internships. We don’t believe that ‘one size fits all’ so there are several approaches based on candidate experience and knowledge. Our technical internships, for example, take newcomers into the heart of our sophisticated systems with exposure to the massive scale of our global operations.

Internships for all
Our corporate internships, meanwhile, focus on mixing business and technology in diverse fields, including finance, sales, marketing, and legal. This is where candidates get the chance to influence multiple disciplines in the industry in like-minded, talented teams.
We also work to build lasting networks between interns and seasoned professionals through mentoring and development opportunities. Along with internal hiring initiatives like Advantage: YOU, we’re all about building lifelong professional relationships and opportunities.

Marketing Intern
So, what advice do our interns have for people considering internships? “Definitely do all your research and the due diligence,” Sophia Elasmer, one of our marketing interns, suggests. “Reach out to people that you know that work at the company and start very early. It’s a long process but it will be so rewarding in the end”.
Jeffrey recommends taking it slow at first to give yourself the best possible chance. “Take the time to familiarize yourself with Oracle’s culture, technology, and people. Understanding Oracle’s core values and connecting with current employees and interns will give you a significant advantage.”
As we’ve heard, an internship at Oracle offers a dynamic and immersive experience, giving a strong foundation for future careers. With a culture that fosters innovation, mentorship, and a sense of community, interns are set up for success and given the tools to create lasting impact.
If you’re a student or graduate looking for an exciting and rewarding internship, this is the place to be. With a diverse range of opportunities, a dynamic work environment, and an enthusiastic community, you’ll be set up for a summer of growth, new friendships, and memorable experiences.
