Students and graduates across the country are gearing up to enter the world of technology. But what does a career in the industry really look like? Oracle REACH gives students a deep dive into what it’s like to work for a tech giant—and sets them up for success as they begin their career journey. Here’s a look at what this exciting program has to offer.
The REACH mission
The Oracle REACH acronym reflects the program’s mission: reignite the passion of talent, help expose their excellence in achieving their career goals, and collaborate with others to honor their uniqueness.
“We help students and graduates connect with Oracle employees and recruiting teams; learn about our different lines of business for early talent and recent grads; and develop their overall knowledge of our culture, who we are, and why we should be their number one choice,” explains the REACH team.

Summer engagement
The REACH mission is accomplished through highly interactive events, with Summer Engagement being the core of the program. These personalized virtual sessions, spread out over the summer, give students a close up of what a career in tech really looks like while empowering them to land their dream role.
Summer Engagement activities include mentorship circles—monthly meet ups with an Oracle professional and REACH peers where students receive guidance and expand their networks. Work shadow day gives students the opportunity to hear from Oracle’s early talent professionals, who share a detailed breakdown of their roles and lines of business.
Of course, there is no one track to career success. Each student’s unique talents and perspective will shape their experience entering the workforce. With REACH’s resume workshop and interview prep summer activities, Oracle team members work one-on-one with students to highlight their strengths and give them the best chance to land a job they love.
Diverse events
REACH partners with our employee resource groups (ERGs) throughout the year to organize conferences that enable students to experience our inclusive culture and connect with the diverse people who make up our company.
Each virtual conference spotlights a different community at Oracle for occasions such as Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Autism Awareness Month, Pride Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Disability Employment Awareness Month. These events don’t just provide a closer look at the resources and support available to our diverse communities. By hearing from employees with a wide range of perspectives, backgrounds, and identities, students also get a deeper understanding of life at Oracle.
“These recruiting events offer inclusive spaces for networking and professional development and empower individuals as they embark on their career journey,” the REACH team shares. “They help raise awareness about diversity in the workplace and showcase our commitment to fostering inclusion.”
Mentor dedication

At the end of the day, the REACH program relies on the dedication of employees—many of whom are eager to step up to the plate as mentors. Take Chelsea Anestal, associate consultant for Oracle Health, who volunteered as a REACH mentor last year. She was inspired by a time when she was deciding whether or not to apply to Oracle and connected with someone who worked there to find out what it means to be an employee. The employee’s insights ultimately helped her make her decision to join the company, and she wanted to do the same for others.
Chelsea was steadfast in her support as a REACH mentor. She sent weekly check-in emails to discuss highlights from students’ weeks. Together, they celebrated wins like earning interviews, learning new skills, finishing degree programs, and more.
“During the mentorship circles, I guided my mentees on setting goals, hybrid and remote work, time management, continuous learning, interviewing, and networking,” she adds. “I received feedback from them on what they would like to discuss.”
Invest in the next generation
Oracle REACH drew in over 1,000 participants across events last year, and the team is thrilled for the future of the program. REACH’s success not only reveals the talent, passion, and diversity of new innovators—it also demonstrates the investment that the Oracle community has in the next generation.
“I want to pay it forward. It is a rewarding experience to be a part of a student’s career journey and provide critical feedback and resources.”
