Looking for a new adventure in the hospitality industry. but haven’t quite found a role that fits? We’re hiring adaptable team players to join the Oracle Hospitality Philippines team. Let’s hear it from one employee who checked into Oracle and hasn’t looked back since.

Catching the Oracle bug

Implementation consultant Kaye Apilado was surprised to stumble across the opportunity during a quick internet search. Looking for a fresh start, the former customer services agent was intrigued by the travel prospects attached to the role.

“My application was a ‘try’ only. I saw a post on Facebook, then I saw that the job required 75 percent of your time travelling. Since I loved to travel and I had the relevant qualifications from the hospitality industry, I thought ‘why not!’” Kaye explains. “Working with Oracle means working globally, experiencing different cultures and gaining knowledge I never knew that I could learn.”

One size does fit all

Whether you’re a senior director or a fresh graduate, the one thing that all employees can agree on is the diversity promoted by Oracle’s culture—something noted by the hospitality enthusiast from the moment she joined the company.

“We have collaboration, we work hand in hand with one another to ensure the guest experience is optimized in a timely manner,” she says of the togetherness within her team.

It’s an issue widely spoken about in the world today, but the stigma around females working in tech still stands, something Oracle tries hard to break through by implementing a diverse and inclusive approach to workplace culture. Kaye shares: “It’s not always easy but I can say it’s fulfilling. With support from colleagues and management, I’m more able to tackle barriers.”

Team work makes Oracle’s dream work

Whilst not directly involved in selecting the people working around her, Kaye places high value on being surrounded by supportive, innovative colleagues that aren’t afraid to challenge her ideas and led by managers that take time out to listen and consider every perspective. Kaye emphasizes, “We have honest communication. It’s a fun, challenging, and rewarding experience. The organization allows us to grow and increase your value as a professional.”

Kaye concludes by sharing her most important piece of career advice, something she is able to practice every day at Oracle: “Step outside your comfort zone because that’s the only way you’re going to grow.”
