In February, we reduced the price of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certification exams by more than 35% and made all related training content available for free. In March, we announced that the certification exams are available at no charge until May 15, 2020. Our goal is to give you the best possible learning and onboarding resources and help you build critical Oracle Cloud Infrastructure skills.
Since we made the announcement about free certification exams until May 15, we’ve received many questions about how to take advantage of this offer. In this post, I answer some of those frequently asked questions.

After you access the page for the path you’re interested in, click the certification name in the Certification box. The following screenshot shows the page for the Foundations Associate certification.
Note: If you schedule an exam directly through the Pearson VUE website, you won’t receive this discount.
If you have a Pearson VUE account, sign in as a returning user. If you don’t have a Pearson VUE account, click Create a web account and follow the instructions.
Select how you want to take the exam. For example, to take the exam online at home, select At a home or office. You can also run a precheck for your machine. Then, click Next.
Note that the exam number has an "-F" suffix. This suffix designates that the exam has a 100% discount until May 15. After May 15, no suffix will appear.
Agree to the Pearson VUE terms and conditions, and then click Next.
Verify the exam details, and then click Next. The discount will be applied when you check out.
Confirm your exam selection, and then click Next.
Choose an appointment slot for your exam. As the following screenshot shows, multiple slots are available on any given day. This example shows choosing the 12:30 PM slot for April 24 in the US Pacific time zone. After you select a slot, click Next.
In the cart, verify your information. Note that the 100% discount will be applied when you check out.
Click Proceed to Checkout. The total is USD 0.00 after applying the 100% discount.
That's it! Now you can take your free certification exam. Note that you must take the exam by May 15, 2020, to receive the discount.
With many test centers closed around the globe, you can take these (and other) Oracle certification exams from home. Pearson VUE will assign you an online proctor for the exam. Learn more about taking the exam online.

There is no limit to the number of different exams that you can take as part of this offer. Note that you have to schedule and take your exams by May 15, 2020.
No, test takers are allowed only one attempt of each of the six certification exams for free as part of this offer. Learn more about the retake policy.
You might have to wait in a queue for the online proctor, or your environment might continue to hold and spin with no activity. At this time, Pearson VUE is experiencing increased demand for online proctors, and we recommend allowing extra time for your exam. If needed, you might have to reschedule to a later date.
Yes, if your session ends abruptly because of a technical issue, Pearson VUE will reinstate your discount and enable you to schedule a new appointment.
