At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), protecting sensitive data in the cloud for our customers is a top priority. OCI launched Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Zero Trust Packet Routing (OCI ZPR) to secure your resources quickly and simply, with just security attributes and policies.
Traditional network security relies heavily on IP addresses and network topology that can make it challenging due to complex interconnections and scaling features, resulting in dynamic changes to the cloud environment. This can lead to network misconfigurations and change errors, thereby increasing the security risk. OCI ZPR addresses these security concerns by applying security attributes to resources and easily configurable policies on what can connect to your resources. Traffic that is not explicitly allowed by policy cannot travel the network, improving security while simplifying the work of security, network, and audit teams. Reviewing the ZPR attributes associated with your resources you can see easily that the correct access has been applied in one place without wadding through several different networking settings and cross referencing with IP addresses.

Oracle LiveLabs give you direct, hands-on access to Oracle’s tools and technologies to run a wide variety of labs and workshops. We have created an Oracle LiveLabs workshop – comprised of four labs – to help customers learn about OCI ZPR and easily walk through a few examples of how to use OCI ZPR policy to protect sensitive resources.
Where Can I Find the OCI ZPR Labs?
The OCI ZPR LiveLabs workshop can be found here. From there, click the green “Start” button and follow the steps provided in the labs. The hands-on workshop is self-paced and will take an estimated 60 minutes from start to finish.
Are there Pre-requisites to the Labs?
There are no pre-requisites to the labs. The OCI ZPR service can be deployed in your own tenancy at no cost. If you do not have a tenancy, the labs will walk you through creation of a trial tenancy which will have a trial budget before converting to a free tier tenancy.
