Announcing VMware HCX Enterprise for Oracle Cloud VMware Solution

John Lindblom
Principal Product Manager

We’re pleased to announce availability of the Enterprise edition of VMware HCX for Oracle Cloud VMware Solution. VMware HCX provides a mobility platform for our customers building hybrid connectivity across their on-premises infrastructure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. With the enterprise edition, our customers can extend the functionality of HCX beyond the current Advanced edition available today with Oracle Cloud VMware Solution.

HCX Enterprise builds on the currently available HCX Advanced edition available to customers free of charge. Enterprise edition includes the following features:

  • Non-vSphere to vSphere migration enables a customer to migrate virtual machines (VMs) from Hyper-V or KVM hypervisors directly into a VMware hypervisor deployment.

  • Large-scale bulk migration allows a customer to integrate more vMotion functionality across sites to migrate large quantities of live workloads on demand and with no downtime.

  • Advanced disaster recovery with SRM readiness integrates with VMware’s Site Recovery Manager tooling to enhance disaster recovery replication capabilities.

You can purchase HCX Enterprise as a monthly add-on to a new or existing Oracle Cloud VMware Solution deployment. You can also easily upgrade your current HCX Advanced editions to Enterprise as needed. You can further downgrade you Enterprise license after completing the workload migration and return to the no-charge Advanced edition.
