Oracle Academy has been a proud sponsor of Oracle4Girls since its inception. Designed to motivate girls and young women ages 4-16 to explore the world of STEM, its mission is to help close the gender gap in technology. By offering hands-on experiences on programming and robotics that spark curiosity and boost confidence, Oracle is helping to open doors to future careers and showing young innovators that the tech industry is exactly where they belong.

Now in its eighth year, Oracle4Girls continues to grow in scale and impact. This year’s journey across Spain has already seen incredible milestones, most recently in A Coruña and Sevilla.

The Oracle4Girls experience in A Coruña, Galicia

On March 7, 2026, in honour of International Women’s Day (IWD), Oracle Academy collaborated with the University of A Coruña (UDC) to host one of our Oracle4Girls events. Over 160 girls gathered to discover that a future in technology is way within their reach.

The atmosphere was full of excitement as participants dove into practical workshops covering:

  • Robotics and Programming: Bringing code to life through physical devices, including learning to program through Oracle Academy workshops using Alice.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Demystifying the logic behind the tools of the future.
  • Emerging Tech: Experimenting and creating in a fun, supportive environment.

Through these hands-on experiences, the girls not only had the opportunity to build technical skills but also gained confidence in their ability to create with technology.

While the girls were busy building, we also hosted inspiring sessions for parents and families. These talks, led by female role models in the tech sector, emphasized the vital role families play in encouraging girls to pursue their STEM interests.

A growing momentum

The success in A Coruña follows a fantastic start to our 2026 calendar. We kicked off the year with a great session in Sevillawith 80 girls participating.

As we look at the weeks ahead, the momentum continues to build in:

  • Barcelona (April 18): Our next big stop, with 125 girls ready to innovate.
  • Málaga (May 9): We are expecting a record-breaking 150 attendees.
  • Coming coon: We currently are finalizing dates for other cities, including Madrid.

A community effort

Oracle4Girls is a testament to the power of collaboration. This initiative would not be possible without the dedication of our Oracle leaders and volunteers across the country. Their passion, commitment, and willingness to share knowledge are at the heart of every workshop and every success story.

We are equally grateful to our academic partners, local communities, and families who continue to support and believe in this mission. Together, we are building more than just skills; we are nurturing confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging in the tech world. As Oracle4Girls continues to grow, so does our collective impact, proving that when we work together, we can truly shape a more diverse and innovative future in technology.
