Oracle was honored to participate in the recent U.S. Embassy Mauritius event celebrating 250 years of American innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration. Representing Oracle on the panel, Nilesh Jankee, Oracle Academy Ambassador and Master Principal Account Cloud Engineer, Oracle, joined business leaders, entrepreneurs, students, and members of the wider community for engaging discussions on innovation, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and the future of digital transformation in Mauritius and across Africa.

The panel discussion provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on how technology is reshaping industries and enabling organizations to innovate faster, smarter, and more securely. The conversations reflected the growing importance of AI, cloud, and trusted enterprise data in supporting digital transformation across both public and private sectors.

During the discussion, Oracle shared insights into how data, AI, and innovation are helping organizations accelerate transformation across industries including telecommunications, banking, healthcare, hospitality, logistics, research, and the public sector. The discussion highlighted Oracle’s broad portfolio of enterprise technologies, spanning applications, enterprise data platforms, and AI-powered solutions designed to help organizations operate more efficiently and securely.

A key theme throughout the panel was the importance of trusted enterprise data as the foundation for meaningful AI innovation. Participants explored how organizations are increasingly leveraging modern capabilities such as Data Lakehouse architectures, built-in machine learning, GenAI solutions, multicloud deployments, and AI agents to support smarter decision-making and scalable innovation.

The discussion also highlighted how Mauritius continues to position itself as a growing innovation and technology hub within Africa; AI initiatives at the national level are contributing to digital transformation and creating opportunities for future economic growth.

Another important focus area was the role of collaboration between industry and academia in building the next generation of digital and AI talent across Mauritius and the region. Through initiatives such as Oracle Academy, educators are gaining opportunities to strengthen digital skills development and better prepare graduates for an evolving workforce shaped by cloud and AI technologies.

One of the strongest takeaways from the panel discussion was a simple but powerful message: “AI without data is nothing, and trusted enterprise data will continue to be the foundation for meaningful innovation at scale”.
