The eLearning Africa 18th International Conference & Exhibition on Digital Education, Training & Skills Development was held from May 7 – 9, 2025, at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The conference brought together key stakeholders from across the continent and beyond to explore innovations and solutions shaping the future of digital education and skills development in Africa.
Oracle Academy participated in this influential event as a Silver Sponsor, partner and exhibitor, and actively contributed to the Teachers’ Professional Development session. During the session, Danny Gooris, Senior Regional Director of Oracle Academy, EMEA, presented on the theme ‘Shaping the future of education: empowering educators, transforming futures’.
The session focused on inclusive strategies designed to reduce digital inequality and enhance the capacity of teachers, particularly in under-resourced and remote areas. Presenters shared practical approaches such as virtual collaboration models, community-based training programs, and professional development initiatives. These approaches are helping educators build confidence, improve digital literacy, and unlock new learning opportunities for students. Oracle Academy collaborates with and values educators as collaborators who are empowered to lead innovative student learning anytime, anywhere. We offer educators the technology education resources they need to help students learn, build, explore, develop, innovate, and lead.
In addition to the speaking session, Oracle Academy showcased its free educational resources and teaching tools available to institutions worldwide. Through demonstrations and one-on-one engagements at the Oracle Academy exhibition, participants learned how Oracle Academy supports educators with industry-relevant resources including curriculum, learning resources, Oracle Cloud technologies, Oracle APEX, a wide range of software, professional development opportunities, and professional certification resources that help prepare students for their future careers.
