To mark the 2026 International Day of Education, themed ‘The power of youth in co-creating education’, Oracle Academy welcomed 60 students from the European Institute of Technology (EPITECH) Benin Republic and Oxbridge Tutorial College, Lagos to the Oracle Lagos office for an immersive commemorative event. This initiative underscored Oracle Academy’s commitment to fostering students’ innovation and digital skills development.

The visit on January 29, 2026, began with a brief presentation by Oracle Academy Program Manager Bekere Amassoma about the company, its history, and its current projects. She discussed with the students the different teams within the company and their roles, as well as the tools and technologies they use. The students were particularly interested in the latest software and hardware Oracle offers and works with, as well as the challenges people face in keeping up with rapidly changing technology.

One of the highlights of the visit was a Q&A session with some Oracle Volunteers. The students were able to ask questions about their jobs, how they got into the technology industry, and what advice they had for students interested in pursuing a career in the field. The employees were happy to share their experiences and insights, and the students left with a better understanding of what it takes to succeed in the technology industry.

Overall, the visit was a great success. The students were engaged, and it was clear that they had a genuine interest in learning more about Oracle technologies.

Brouhane Boni Gomina, a third year student from EPITECH, expressed gratitude to Oracle Academy, saying, “I hope to work at Oracle one day soon.”

Stay tuned for more impactful initiatives from Oracle Academy, as we continue to empower the next generation of tech leaders!
