The Technology Ireland – Ibec Industry Awards Outstanding Academic Achievement of the Year in the field of Technology recognizes an academic institution, academic department, or individual for outstanding contributions to the software sector.
Oracle Academy staff were honoured to be part of the judging panel in this prestigious event, which had two shortlisted entries as follows:

Insight Research Ireland Centre for Data Analytics undertakes high impact research in data analytics and artificial intelligence that has significant benefits for the individual, industry, and society by enabling better decision making. All of the research is informed by the vision: Empowering Citizens. Smarter Societies. Making good decisions is dependent on having the best and most accurate information, and Insight UCD research helps to transform data into knowledge.
Research Ireland Centre for Research Training in Foundations of Data Science
This large-scale collaborative initiative between the University of Limerick (UL), Maynooth University (MU), and University College Dublin (UCD) will train a cohort of 128 PhD students with world-class foundational understanding in
the horizontal themes of applied mathematics, statistics, and machine learning. These fundamental themes will be fused together by applying them to real-world challenges across five vertical themes including Data Analytics,
Privacy & Security, Health & Wellbeing, Smart Manufacturing, and Networks.
The winner, recently announced, was Dr. Andrew Hines, Insight UCD.
Orlaith Lawton, Senior Marketing Manager, Oracle Academy EMEA, was honored to be part of the judging panel on behalf of Oracle. “It was a delight to hear of the dedication, hard work and creative solutions that our academic experts are working on, which lead to greater solutions for commercial application, to the benefit of all,” she said.
The worthy winner was announced at the awards event on November 21, 2025, in Dublin, which was live streamed.
