Oracle Academy and the Oracle APEX team recently collaborated to deliver their first joint APEX @ University workshop, hosted at the School of Computing, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, India.

The workshop marked an important milestone in bringing Oracle expertise and technology closer to students and educators at scale. With 800 students and more than 20 faculty members participating, the event achieved exceptional reach for a single workshop and provided participants with an opportunity to explore the possibilities of building AI-powered applications with Oracle APEX.

Representing Oracle Academy, Bharadwaj Asokan, Lead Program Manager, Oracle Academy South Asia, supported the collaboration and coordination of the workshop. He worked with the institution and Oracle APEX team to bring the initiative together, while also supporting the provisioning of the access students needed to participate in the learning experience.

Oracle APEX experts Santhosh Kumar, Senior Manager, Product Management, Oracle APEX, and Ankita Beri, Senior Product Manager, Oracle APEX, led the technical deep-dive sessions. Through these expert-led sessions and practical demonstrations, students were introduced to Oracle APEX and explored how low-code development and artificial intelligence can be combined to rapidly create modern applications.

The scale of participation demonstrated the strong interest among students and faculty in emerging technologies such as AI and low-code application development. For the 800 students participating, the workshop offered more than an introduction to a technology platform. It provided an opportunity to connect their academic learning with real-world approaches to application development and learn directly from Oracle product experts.

The participation of more than 20 faculty members also helped extend the impact of the workshop beyond the event itself by creating greater awareness of Oracle technologies and learning opportunities within the academic community.

The workshop reflects how collaboration between Oracle Academy, Oracle product teams, and educational institutions can create meaningful opportunities for students to engage with the most current technologies and expertise in industry.
