At the invitation of Monash University, Australia, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Oracle Enterprise Architect – Industry, Value & Architecture, Customer Strategy, joined students last Tuesday evening for a guest lecture and mock interview session. The event exemplified Oracle Academy’s ongoing commitment to helping students connect academic learning with real-world industry experience.
Drawing on his experience helping organizations modernize technology platforms and strengthen security practices, Rakesh shared insights into current trends in cloud computing, data security, platform reliability, and enterprise architecture. Students gained valuable exposure to the challenges enterprises face as they navigate digital transformation and evolving security requirements.
The session concluded with a mock interview exercise built around a realistic enterprise technology modernization scenario. Students were presented with a case study involving a global organization seeking to improve platform reliability, security, and operational efficiency while managing complex cloud and integration environments. Acting as the company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Rakesh challenged students to present recommendations, justify their architectural decisions, and respond to executive-level questions. The exercise gave students an opportunity to demonstrate both technical knowledge and business thinking in a realistic consulting-style environment.
Students also received practical feedback on communication skills, problem-solving approaches, and stakeholder engagement—valuable preparation for future internships and graduate roles. Oracle Academy is proud to support learning experiences that bring industry expertise into the classroom and help students develop the technology knowledge and skills they need for successful careers across industries. We thank Monash University for the invitation and Rakesh for sharing his time, knowledge, and industry experience with the next generation of career-ready professionals
