Oracle Academy continues to strengthen its collaboration with provincial education offices across Indonesia to expand access to digital skills education for vocational high schools (SMKs). This initiative highlights ongoing regional government support in advancing career-ready education aligned with industry needs.
Through a series of Oracle Academy Faculty Day events themed “Bringing Industry Skills to the Classroom with Oracle Academy,” more than 400 educators from over 200 public and private vocational schools in Jakarta and West Java gathered to explore practical approaches for integrating technology-based learning materials into teaching and learning.
The Jakarta event, held on April 8, 2026, was opened by Nurul Huda, Oracle Academy Manager, Southeast Asia, together with officials from the Jakarta Provincial Education Office. Meanwhile, the West Java event, held at SMKN 13 Bandung on April 23, 2026, was also officially opened alongside regional officials responsible for education and educational personnel development.
Collaboration with Ministry of Education supports vocational education and digital skills growth
As part of an ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Education, this initiative supports the strengthening of digital skills education nationwide while demonstrating the government’s strong commitment to advancing vocational education. During the opening session, Nurul introduced Oracle Academy’s mission and the benefits available to institutions, including free access to a wide range of academic learning resources such as curriculum, learning platforms, and learning pathways designed to help schools align classroom learning with industry requirements.
Participants also engaged in discussions on curriculum mapping, applied learning, and instruction implementation strategies. These sessions encouraged collaboration among educators while providing opportunities to share best practices on how industry-aligned education can help students build confidence and practical skills for future careers, particularly in information technology and creative industries.
Members testify about program’s value to educators and learners
Several long-standing Oracle Academy faculty members who have participated in the program for more than 14 years shared their experiences regarding the long-term impact Oracle Academy has had within Indonesia’s vocational education community. Erik Pratama, a former vocational teacher and Oracle Academy contract instructor who now serves as an education supervisor at the West Java Provincial Education Office, stated that Oracle Academy had significantly influenced both his professional journey and the career readiness of his students.
Offy Sholehatun, a faculty member from SMKN 10 Bandung, also highlighted the long-term value of introducing programming education at an early stage. She shared that her child began learning programming through the Oracle Academy Getting Started with Java Using Alice workshop, which helped build a strong foundation in object-oriented programming. Today, her child works as a freelance animator at a leading 3D game company, demonstrating how the right learning opportunities can lead to meaningful career success.
Participants also received guidance on how to become Oracle Academy members and use the Member Hub, by Sukmana Dasuki Keeng as Oracle Academy Program Manager for Indonesia & Brunei Darussalam, enabling educators to directly access teaching resources and learning materials.
This activity further strengthens collaboration among educators, government stakeholders, and Oracle Academy in supporting scalable and sustainable digital skills education across Indonesia.
