MoE leads national movement to bring Oracle Academy technology curriculum and certification opportunities to vocational students across the country

The Indonesian Ministry of Education, through the Directorate of Vocational High Schools, is accelerating the nation’s readiness for the digital economy by strategically integrating industry-standard IT skills into vocational education. With a national goal to develop nine million digital professionals by 2030, the Directorate is equipping vocational schools with global curriculum and access to innovative technology teaching resources.

This commitment is realized through a strategic collaboration with Oracle Academy, activated via two major national webinars in early 2026. The first, “Bringing Industry Skills to the Classroom,” held on January 28, 2026, engaged approximately 700 participants—including school principals, program leads, and teachers from vocational schools specializing in software development and game programming. Leaders from the Directorate emphasized the need for all vocational institutions to embrace industry collaboration and adopt modern curriculum as a fundamental part of school transformation.

The Oracle Academy team, Nurul Huda and Sukmana Dasuki Keeng, provided an overview of Oracle Academy curriculum, describing the program’s unique benefits and explaining how schools and educators can become members and participate in its initiatives. Educator Cahyadi shared practical strategies for implementing global-standard technology in the classroom. Educators discussed their experiences and exchanged ideas, ensuring the Directorate’s national vision reaches students throughout every region.

Building on this strong foundation, the Directorate welcomed around 8,000 participants—teachers and students joining together in halls across Indonesia—for the second national webinar, “Delivering Vocational School Graduates to Penetrate the IT Industry with Oracle Academy” on February 5, 2026. This event spotlighted the real value of industry curriculum and the opportunities that Oracle Academy creates for vocational graduates. The Directorate and Oracle Academy teams emphasized that an industry-aligned curriculum equips learners with globally relevant skills and credentials, helping them compete effectively in the international job market.

The session featured inspiring student and SMK alumni speakers who learned technology skills using Oracle Academy curriculum at school. Each shared their unique journey and offered encouragement to their peers:

  • Renata Ramadhanyandra, Frontend Engineer, Big Data Company, spoke on resilience and independence, saying, “Study, intern, and start working right away—I went to college without burdening my parents financially by gaining scholarship.”
  • Yusep Muhamad Zazuli, Team Lead Scrapper Engineer, Big Data Company, reflected on his pathway, stating, “My journey took me from SMK alumnus to Team Lead Scrapper Engineer while pursuing my degree.”
  • Indah Widowati, Frontend Engineer, Womantech Maker, addressed gender stereotypes, emphasizing, “Who says engineers must be men? Here’s a real example of a woman engineer who graduated from vocational school.”

This nationwide, top-down initiative is ensuring that the Ministry’s vision and the Directorate’s directives spark real change at the classroom level. As more schools join Oracle Academy, vocational education communities across Indonesia are empowered with world-class learning and curriculum opportunities for both educators and students.

All Indonesian vocational schools are strongly encouraged to become Oracle Academy members to gain free access to global curricula, curriculum pathways, and resources. Schools can register at academy.oracle.com using their official school email addresses.

National recommendation, educational leadership, and classroom innovation are now coming together to transform how vocational schools in Indonesia prepare youth for the global digital economy—empowering every learner to reach their full potential.
