Oracle Academy on October 23, 2025, was delighted to take part in a hybrid Oracle Higher Education event facilitated by Oracle and its OCRE 24 re-seller DSP, and organized by Ronan Kelly, Oracle Database Platform Sales Representative, with the assistance of HEAnet.
The agenda included: New features of Oracle Database 23ai; Why Oracle APEX is Your Secret Weapon; the Strategic Value of Oracle Multi-Cloud; AI in Action; and EU Sovereign Cloud: Key Features and Functions. Additionally, guest speaker Donal Milne, FIS Manager, Trinity College Dublin, spoke about the Oracle Cloud Journey.
The value of Oracle APEX as an easy to change and maintain application was demonstrated, with clear examples of use in industry, as well as the benefits of Oracle Cloud and new features of Oracle Database 23ai.
The day ended with Orlaith Lawton, Senior Marketing Manager, Oracle Academy EMEA, relaying the benefits of Oracle Academy to educators and their students. Oracle Academy enables educators to make technology accessible and inspiring for all students and guide them in acquiring skills required by today’s and tomorrow’s job market — including cloud, artificial intelligence, data science, the Internet of Things, and more.
