As part of “International Day of Girls in ICT”, Faculty of Information Technologies of Mediterranean University from Podgorica, Montenegro, together with its students’ association, organized a project to promote information and communication technologies to girls from third and fourth years of study from high schools across Montenegro.
The first part of the project was dedicated to knowledge transfer, during which students of the Faculty of Information Technologies delivered training to the interested girls on web page creation using open H5P platform.
The second part of the project was a competition, organized in Podgorica, during which girls created websites about inspirational women in STEM. The results were amazing; all the websites the girls created were excellent. It was a pleasure to see wonderful web presentations, queries, tests, and infographics created on the spot by the competing girls about the inspirational women in STEM.
The “Girls in ICT” project was supported by the Montenegrin Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and sponsored by multiple organizations and companies including Oracle.
The Dean of Faculty of Information Technologies, Prof. Maja Delibašić, PhD shared: “The Faculty of Information Technology at the University “Mediterranean” Podgorica proudly supports initiatives that promote digital skills and strengthen the role of women in technology. This year’s competition in celebration of International Girls in ICT Day, our second event of its kind, was another exceptional opportunity to encourage high school girls from all over Montenegro to explore career possibilities in the ICT industry,” she said. “After hearing the inspiring personal stories of successful women in ICT, which were truly motivating for all of us, I would like to express my gratitude to our sponsors and partners.
