Updated Oracle Virtualization training course and new certification exam for Oracle Virtualization now available

Rising costs, required licensing changes, and SKU consolidations with legacy server virtualization products have driven IT leaders to search for new solutions. Oracle Virtualization is an on-premises server virtualization solution that is a robust and reliable alternative for IT operations teams. The solution combines the open source based management platform, Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager, with the high performing, secure Oracle Linux KVM hypervisor. Many organizations have migrated their applications and services to Oracle Virtualization, and these users have shifted from other expensive and licensed virtualization offerings to a simple and cost-effective Oracle Linux Premier Plus Support subscription. 

To help users gain the knowledge needed to manage their Oracle Virtualization deployment, Oracle University has created a new learning path and credential. This learning path consists of an updated course that explains the architecture and the core components of Oracle Virtualization and a new certification exam. The course covers how to install Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager and then how to configure, monitor, and manage Oracle Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machines (KVM). Successful completion of the exam will allow the student to receive an official certification as an Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager Associate.

The Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager:Administration course has been updated and is available online at Oracle University. There are a series of 11 modules of instructor-led recorded content that can be viewed according to the student’s schedule. The videos, demos, and student guide cover the Oracle Virtualization architecture, installations, base configurations, administration, best practices, and basic troubleshooting. 

The course prepares the student for the Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager Associate Exam 1Z0-1170. Sample online practice exams are available to help prepare for the online, proctored certification exam which has 50 multiple choice questions. A passing score of 68% (34 correct) or higher must be achieved to earn certification.
