Documentation for creating and maintaining local IPS package repositories is updated to include more specific instructions for attaining scalability and high availability and for saving space.
For saving space, How to Update a Local IPS Package Repository is more specific about how to replace your repository rather than only add new packages. See the options in Step 3. When removing and replacing, be sure to include all content that is required to update all systems that use this repository.
For scalability, see How to Configure a Repository to Serve More Clients in Parallel, especially the description of using the pkg/depot service.
Updating Repositories with HTTP Locations recommends using the file system location of the repository to update the repository.
For additional high availability, see the updated instructions in Maintaining Multiple Identical Local Repositories.
