We’ve just released the Oracle Solaris 11.4 SRU54. It is available via ‘pkg update’ from the support repository or by downloading the SRU from My Oracle Support Doc ID 2433412.1.

This SRU adds the following new features or modified interfaces:
  • Kernel Zone live storage migration support for individual disk operations
  • Kernel Zone Virtual CPU binding improvements
  • zlogin support for ~<Ctrl-Z> to suspend itself
  • Added -c flag to reboot(8), halt(8), and poweroff(8) to log why it was done
  • Deprecate “calculate-effective-max-pagesize” option to ldm’s add-domain and set-domain subcommands. The “calculate-effective-max-pagesize=on|off” subcommand is still accepted, but is a NOP.
  • pbind(8) default output change for querying multi-LWP processes. The pbind(8) command output was changed to report binding of all LWPs for a process which is composed of multiple LWPs. Please refer to pbind(8) man page for details.
  • Courteous NFS Server
  • Solaris Enterprise Health Check (EHC) package version change
  • Time information for mdb
  • Golang 1.19 for Solaris x86
  • Increased required minimum to 11.4.0 for upgrade. Caution – Oracle Solaris 11.4 SRU 57 removes support for upgrading directly from Oracle Solaris 11.3 to a release of Oracle Solaris 11.4 after SRU 56. Instead, you must first update your system to an Oracle Solaris 11.4 release from GA to SRU 56, and ensure all non-global zones have been booted at least once, before you can update it to the latest Oracle Solaris 11.4 release.
  • Require force flag (-f) to shrink ZFS volumes
  • ZFS send with raw crypto
  • Removal of currency exchange rates from units(1)
  • Kernel Zone MRP reservation for Nested Page Tables
  • Persistent history for mdb
