We’re excited to announce that several highly requested features inspired by your ideas will debut in our upcoming PeopleSoft Update Image. While this isn’t a full list of all the new features, it spotlights enhancements that you—and other customers—championed.
Allow Employees to Enter Expense Reports Before Their Official Hire Date
Candidates sometimes incur expenses for interviews, pre-hire activities, or relocation before their official employment begins. Previously, the system only allowed expense report details to be entered on or after an employee’s effective (hire) date. With this update, we’re introducing flexibility—organizations can now choose to allow pre-hire expense entry. Additionally, reporting tools highlight these cases so that appropriate approvals can be ensured.
Use a Template to Populate Expense Report Details
Many organizations—especially those operating globally—requested the ability to create Public Templates for expense reports. With this enhancement, employees can now use public or personal templates to quickly populate expense details with the right expense types, minimizing errors and ensuring compliance with local requirements. This mirrors the template functionality already available for Travel Authorizations and makes reporting faster and more consistent.
Outstanding Cash Advance Check During Expense Report Save/Submit
To help employees manage cash advances, we’re introducing an optional system check for outstanding cash advances each time an expense report is saved or submitted. If an advance is found, employees are prompted to apply it. Organizations have flexible configuration options for this feature where the outstanding cash advance is automatically applied without user intervention. This capability shows support for best practices and streamlining compliance. This helps prevent aged, unaccounted cash advances and reduces the need for manual follow-ups.
