An important part of an organizations diversity and inclusion strategy is to recruit and hire United States Veterans, and to also be compliant with federal regulations. The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) published a new “sample” version of the VEVRAA form (voluntary self-identification for veterans). Per the OFCCP, contractors should offer applicants the ability to voluntarily self-identify for disability at the Pre-Offer step, the post-Offer step and for all current employees.
OFCCP recommends employers use the revised “sample” form for all employees and applicants. For more details on these changes, please click on the link to view the updated VEVRAA form.
OFCCP simplified the self-identification form by:
- Simplifying the Protected Veteran options from four (4) to one (1)
- Removing Military Discharge Date

Employees can self-identify in Employee Self Service > Personal Details

Revised SAMPLE Employee voluntary self-identification for veterans

Revised SAMPLE Applicants voluntary self-identification for veterans.
Applicants can self-identify during the application process using the same shorten form as Core HR. Previously, the Simplified Veterans Page, located on the Site Setup page was available as a checkbox. With the new shorten form, this checkbox is no longer necessary, so it has been removed.

Oracle has posted the 2024 revised Veteran Self-Identification changes position in a PPR 36890323 posting. See the Position Statement for additional information DOC ID 2979729.1. We advise our customers to review the position statement to keep up to date.
