PeopleSoft Cloud Manager 18 is now generally available! As always, we continue to deliver a growing suite of orchestration and automation capabilities that are only available on Oracle Cloud.
New features in this release include:
Support for Diverse Deployment Architectures
Administrators will be able to upload custom scripts, such as DPK and Puppet, from OCI Object Store, Git, or their local machines to the Cloud Manager repository. These custom scripts can be executed during deployment use cases, including environment provisioning, clone, and add node, to address highly customized deployment topologies.
Orchestration Manager, formerly Governance
Previously, customers could orchestrate certain lifecycle operations such as scale up, scale down, start, stop, refresh, and so on by creating policies using pre-defined events and actions. We expanded this framework to introduce:
- Additional environment lifecycle events such as Provisioning, Clone, PeopleTools Upgrade, PeopleTools Patch, and more, as well as actions such as Send Email Notification, Health Check, and so on.
- The flexibility to execute certain actions such as Start, Stop, and Health Check across Environment or Repository context.
- Improvements to the Invoke Handler action to support a variety of custom action scenarios, including the execution of custom scripts (DPK, puppet, etc.) that can be sourced from Git, OCI Object Store, or local machine and uploaded to the Cloud Manager repository.
These improvements will enable the framework to be highly extensible for unique customer orchestration needs.
Tag-based Environment Access Control
Cloud Manager 18 supports the ability to provide environment permissions to roles based on environment tags. This will reduce the need to manage environment permissions and delegation at an individual environment level.
Support for Paravirtualized Block Volume Attachments
Cloud Manager 18 supports paravirtualized volume attachment type in addition to the existing support for iSCSI. The paravirtualized volume attachments will benefit customers in the OC3 region.
