PeopleSoft Update Image 50 has been generally available since September 20, 2024.  This milestone of delivering innovations to our customers over the last ten years on Release 9.2 highlights Oracle’s commitment to our Applications Unlimited strategy and to our PeopleSoft customers worldwide.

As a background, in March 2013, PeopleSoft HCM Release 9.2 was made generally available and became the base release for all PeopleSoft customers worldwide. In July of 2013, with the release of Update Image 1, PeopleSoft moved away from a major release every 4-5 years to a continuous innovation delivery model.   The continuous delivery model allows PeopleSoft to deliver new features, legislative updates, and maintenance more regularly throughout the year using Release 9.2 as a base release. Then utilizing PeopleSoft Update Manager, customers can selectively adopt and apply updates to their environments at their own schedule. This delivery model allows customers to better optimize their own internal resources and adopt features based on their own schedule and business needs.

Over the last ten years, the PeopleSoft Investment Strategy has been a blended approach of strategic investments that includes customer ideas submitted through the Ideas Lab, emerging technology, and legislative requirements.  Since our first update image in June of 2013, PeopleSoft has delivered 910 features, 1,642 legislative updates, and implemented 823 customer ideas!

In HCM Update Image 50, a few of the key features include:

  • PreBoarding where new hires complete available tasks before their first day
  • Fluid I-9 where employees complete the I-9 form on any device, attach supporting documents, and then submit to a manager or administrator to complete Section 2
  • Payroll Insights for U.S. Year-End where the administrator can review and analyze year-end form data, audits, and the list of corrections made for the year-end forms
