In healthcare, every second counts. Whether you’re managing supplies for an emergency, replenishing lifesaving medications, or tracking urgent equipment requests, speed and clarity in procurement are non-negotiable. To address these needs, PeopleSoft eProcurement Fluid Requisition now features a new ‘Rush’ priority—giving your healthcare procurement teams the control and visibility needed to support clinical and operational urgency.

‘Rush’ in Priority Dropdown: Requesters assigned the ALLOW_RUSH_REQ role now see a new ‘Rush’ option in the priority field in the Fluid eProcurement Checkout page. This empowers authorized staff (e.g., nursing supervisors, ER supply coordinators) to flag highly urgent needs—crucial for health systems.

Role-Based Governance: Only authorized requesters (as determined by admin teams) can apply the ‘Rush’ flag, helping manage budget and compliance.

Informed Decision-Making: Setting an item as ‘Rush’ prompts a warning about possible additional costs—helping control budget impact while supporting urgent patient care.

End-to-End Visibility: ‘Rush’ requests can be filtered and reviewed by procurement and leadership. Requisitions marked as ‘Rush’ stand out in all inquiry, reporting, and print functions.

Integrated Workflow: Approval workflows allow managers to quickly find and act on urgent requests.

Login as Peoplesoft Administrator. Navigate to Assign Role Actions To Roles page, Requisition Access (REQACS) role action category, Add ALLOW_RUSH_REQ row  for ePro Requester rolename and enable it – as shown in below screen shot

Consider the following scenario- An hospital needs to do biopsy for an emergency. A clinical requester would then do a search for biopsy needles as shown in below screen shot.

Add the item-Biopsy needles to the shopping cart then hit the checkout button.

Clinical requester in the ER flags a requisition as ‘Rush’, ensuring urgent review and fulfilment as shown in above screen shot.

System will issue a warning prompt upon selecting ‘Rush’ Priority. Requester sees a message-“Setting the Requisition to Rush may incur additional costs. Are you sure?”

To set the Requisition to ‘Rush’, the  requester should choose ‘Yes’. Requester may then save and/or submit the ‘Rush’ requisition for further processing.

As shown in above screen shot, My Requisitions page can now be filtered on Priority = Rush, to quickly see all urgent requests.

As shown in above screen shot, Approvers will be able to quickly find and act on ‘Rush’ requisitions. The Approver can also filter the pending Requisitions by the Priority so they can see all of the ‘Rush’ pending approvals.
