With the release of PeopleSoft ELM image 25 we bring together features from PeopleTools 8.62 and some new capabilities to make the learning administrator and learner experience even better. The two primary improvements—Learning Request Delegation and Conditional Equivalencies—are enabled for all ELM environments. The remaining improvements are only available when ELM is clustered with PeopleSoft HCM and on PeopleTools 8.62 because they are built on PeopleTools 8.62 Landing Page framework and on common HCM–ELM homepage architecture.
1. Delegation for Learning Request Approvals
The primary advancement in Image 25 is the ability to delegate learning request approvals. Approval delays often have considerable impact on both learners waiting to access required learning and administrators with responsibilities to process those requests, particularly for compliance-related requests. There may be situations where the approver is absent or inaccessible due to leave of absence, and those delays cause failure to meet the completion timeline. Now with this new delegation feature, designated alternate users can automatically be assigned as approvers to fulfill the approval requests to prevent such delays. As a result, learners can immediately access the learning content without waiting for days, and administrators do not have to chase delayed approvals or manually reassign learning requests. This critical enhancement helps to simplify the training administration activities and flow without unnecessary stops.
2. Conditional Equivalencies for Courses & Programs
Conditional Equivalencies is the next major improvement that comes with ELM Image 25. This enhancement will provide even greater flexibility in associating when a course or program may be used as an equivalent based on a particular condition, rather than a static and unconditional equivalence. For example, a shorter refresher course may be set to act as an equivalent of a full-length course, but only if the refresher course has been taken in the last year. Or, a certification may replace a related internal course for the user, but only if the job role is matched. This new feature of ELM Image 25 allows learners to get credit for experience they have already gained while still maintaining the standards for compliance or quality of learning. It also enables a more tailored training journey while removing the need to retrain experienced staff, resulting in learning programs that feel more personalized and efficient.
3. New Instructor Home Page Section
Instructors benefit from a new homepage section that provides convenient and easy access to their classes, rosters, and to-dos. However, this change is only available when ELM is clustered with PeopleSoft HCM on PeopleTools 8.62. Instructors, in this environment, will see a new home page section dedicated to their needs. Instead of browsing the menus and pages to access the information, the instructors can find all of the relevant information for their daily work on the homepage.
4. New Dashboards for Team Learning & Learning Administration
New dashboards with visually modern layouts that provide an organized view for the managers, team leaders, and learning administrators are available in the clustered environment with PeopleSoft HCM on PeopleTools 8.62. Managers and team leaders can view their team members’ status and progress of their learning tasks, upcoming learning activities, and training gaps on the dashboard, while the learning administrators can see a consolidated view of the current completions, enrollments, expiring certifications, and action items on their new dashboard. These dashboards bring together the previously scattered view through intuitive navigation with a role-based visibility of learning activities.
5. Notifications for Suggestions & Certification Warnings
Suggestions and certifications for warning appear as notifications for users. This enhancement is only available when ELM is clustered with PeopleSoft HCM on PeopleTools 8.62. Suggestions and certifications use the new notification-based tile framework as an overview to easily capture learners’ attention for taking proactive actions. Learners are now notified for recommended training and/or certifications nearing their expiry date. These notifications are also placed on the landing page to help learners engage with the learning tasks.
6. “Continue With” Notifications for Learning Progress
“Continue With” notifications are sent for learning in progress in the clustered environment on PeopleTools 8.62 with PeopleSoft HCM. Learners are notified about their learning in progress, making it very simple to continue the learning that they had already started instead of having to navigate through menus. This enhancement helps in reducing the abandoned learning activities and promoting continuity.
7. Adoption of the New PeopleSoft Landing Page
Image 25 includes full support for the new PeopleTools 8.62 Landing Page, which is available in the clustered HCM environment. Landing Page comes with customizable tiles, including configurable sections, dynamic and static tiles, notifications-driven content, and user interface (UI) visibility with the capability to leverage CSS for stylization. The organizations using PeopleSoft HCM in a clustered environment can take advantage of these capabilities with ELM to build personalized and branded landing pages that provide a more visually appealing layout for users while simplifying the access to learning tools.
PeopleSoft ELM Image 25 advances the learning management experience in organizations by focusing on improvements for the approval flow, personalizing the learning experience, and enhancing the completion proces. Administrators, managers, and learners will all benefit from the continuous inovation of PeopleSoft ELM.
