The PeopleSoft Benefits Strategy, Support, and Development Team has been monitoring My Oracle Support and a number of community list serves concerning COVID-19. PeopleSoft Customers are very resourceful in creating methods to deal with benefits issues related to their business practices.
Here are two topics that were recently discussed:
Creating Special Fluid Benefits Enrollment
Customer comment: “We have a large population of employees who are on Voluntary Unpaid LOA, Benefits Status Active. The company is going to pick up the employee cost for Health, Dental & Vision insurance. The employee will have the option to stop or change coverage on their other Optional Benefits.”
For this case, there are a couple of options:
- Build a miscellaneous Life Event where the employee would initiate the process, or
- Build a unique “open” Enrollment that can be pushed out directly to employees
The Spotlight on Life Events video is a good resource. It walks you through the Activity Guide Composer that Fluid Benefits Enrollments are built on. The Open Enrollment Knowledge Document provides important installation documentation and other resources.
Creating a New Benefit Leave Plan
Customer comment: “We are creating a new leave plan in Base Benefits and then adding new TRCs and Earn Codes to track leave time.”
Absence Management is the go-to solution for Leave Plans, FMLA, and all types of leave tracking because it is very robust and flexible. But if you are creating a new leave plan in Base Benefits for tracking the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), here is a link to PeopleBooks Leave Plan Setup on how to set up your plans.
These topics and others relating to COVID-19 are all cataloged on the PeopleSoft COVID-19 Info Center on My Oracle Support (doc id 2650817.2).
