‘Job Data Modernization’, a feature released in PeopleSoft HCM PUM Image 36 allows organizations to provide a modern way for administrators to search for employees and maintain their Job Data.
Today, most modern applications allow users to not only update data in a transaction but also record their comments on the employee’s job data changes they are making. Similarly, the administrators updating the Job Data of employees using the Fluid Job Data also require the ability to enter comments and track comments for employees.
With PeopleSoft HCM Image 42, HR Administrators can now enter comments for a Job Data change using the new Fluid based ‘Track Comments’ feature.
Administrators will now see a ‘Comments’ box enabled in the ‘Summary’ step in the guided process for Action data entry as shown below:
The administrator can click on the ‘Submit’ button to save the comments along with the other Job Data changes. If an administrator misses adding comments on the ‘Summary’ step, then the ‘Comments’ box is shown again when they click on the ‘Submit’ button as shown below:
If approvals are enabled, the approver can review the comments under the new Requestor Comments section enabled on the approval page:
If an approver enters comments while Approving, Denying, or Pushing Back the Action-Reason requests, then the ‘Track Comments’ feature maintains these comments also. Administrators can see the latest comment for a Job Data Action-Reason on the Job Details page under the ‘Summary’ section, ‘Comments’ header:
To see the history of comments for an Action-Reason, the administrators can click on the ‘Request History’ section link available below the latest comment on the Job Details page:
The ‘Track Comments’ enhancement can help HR Administrators collaborate better with each other while maintaining the Job Data of employees using the Job Data Modernization feature.
