What are delegations?  Simply put, it’s a way of giving one’s authority to another user.  This includes the authority to approve transactions, as well as the ability to create new transactions on behalf of another user.  Delegations have been used by HCM customers for many years now, and with the introduction of Fluid Delegations PeopleSoft has retained all of the benefits of the HCM Delegations while also introducing some widely requested enhancements.

  • Delegation Dashboard

The first noticeable change is that there is a new dashboard where you can get to all of your delegation tasks, from creating a delegation, monitoring whether others have accepted your delegation or to revoke a delegation, to accepting or rejecting delegations that have been given to you by other people.

  • Multiple Delegates

YOU know that it takes more than one person to cover for you, so now you have the ability to delegate to more than one person at a time.

  • Cascading Delegations

Sometimes people have to take time off of work unexpectedly, so the person that you delegated those approvals to now has to delegate it to someone else.  No problem.  Delegations can be cascaded down two levels.  This means that Rosanna can delegate to John, who can then delegate to Christelle.  If Christelle needs to take time off then an Administrator can step in and create the appropriate delegation.

  • Include Delegator

You may not be taking time off from work, but you may be so busy with another project that you need others to temporarily take over some of your work. You can delegate approvals and still be able to see the approvals, and when you’re able, step in and approve transactions.  Turn on the Include Delegator checkbox on the delegation transaction level to use this functionality.

These are just some of the enhancements that were delivered with the Fluid Delegations.  To see all of the enhancements watch the Fluid Delegations video feature overview.
