Payroll Administrators have a manual and challenging task of creating and maintaining Calendar related information, to process payroll for employees catering to the organization structure every year.

PeopleSoft already has an automatic Period and Calendar creation process. Since HCM 9.2 Image 33, Payroll Administrators are able to create Calendar Groups automatically. This feature has been enhanced in PUM Image 36 to automatically create Forecasting Templates.

Automatic Calendar Group Creation:

Creating multiple Calendar Groups and adding existing Calendars in a sequential order has been a laborious and complex task for any Payroll Administrator.

PeopleSoft delivers the following features as part of this automatic Calendar Group creation process:

  • While creating Calendar Groups, users can also create Periods and Calendars.
  • Users will be able to create multiple Calendar Groups with existing Calendars as well as new Calendars.
  • Target Calendars & Forecasting Templates can be associated with the Calendars at the time of new Calendar creation.

Automatic Forecasting Template creation & update:

Until now, Absence Calendars had to be added manually to the Forecasting template.

As part of this solution, adding Calendars automatically to the Template, based on the Calendar frequency and period end date, will help reduce the manual efforts.

PeopleSoft delivers the following key features as part of Forecasting Template automation:

  • Creation of a new Forecasting Template based on role.
  • Ability to modify existing Forecasting Template to include the new Calendars
  • Begin and end period date range can be defined to limit the Calendars to be included in the Template.
  • Additional filters are provided to specify Pay Group and starting Calendar pattern to select the Calendars to be included.
  • Calendars are sequenced based on the Calendar frequency and period end date.
