CKEditor is a rich text editor used for editing text in various places in Peoplesoft HCM, FSCM and HR Helpdesk. It offers rich text editing options and the ability to use shortcut Quick Keys functionality to make editing text easier for users. The support for CKEditor 4 ended this year and going forward only CKEditor 5 will be supported.
As a result, PeopleSoft PeopleSoft has updated the CKEditor version in PeopleTools and PeopleSoft HCM, FSCM and HR Helpdesk has delivered updates to pages wherever Rich Text Editor is used today. PeopleSoft PeopleTools has delivered an update to support features of CKEditor 5 in PeopleTools Patch PT 8.60.04. These changes are also backported to PT 8.59.16.
The application uptake of the PeopleTools changes for PeopleSoft HCM, FSCM and HR Helpdesk are delivered via a Patch Release Patchset (PRP). Refer the My Oracle Support Doc ID 2930857.1 to know about the details of the changes and download the project based on the product.
As with any update of such plug-ins, there are some changes users will experience with the CKEditor 5 update also. Some of the editing options that used to work with CKEditor 4 either don’t work or work differently.
