Speaking for the entire PeopleSoft team, we are pleased to announce that PeopleTools 8.62 is generally available for all PeopleSoft customers on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). It may sound like a cliché, but this release is truly one of the more significant and transformational PeopleTools releases yet. We delivered a range of features that will elevate the value of running PeopleSoft applications while also continuing to make them easier and less expensive to maintain.

  • In this release, PeopleTools equips customers to move towards the concept of a PeopleSoft Landing Page, which provides a one-stop starting experience for every user and enables them to seamlessly navigate to relevant content and operational areas within the applications. A Landing Page can be designed using advanced styling, layout, and dynamic controls offered for homepages, dashboards, sections, and tiles, to present tailored content to the user based on their roles, recent activities, and so much more.
  • Prompt and drop-down fields are enhanced to respond to your previous choices and display relevant suggestions based on your most frequently and recently used values. These new Smart Prompt and Drop-Down fields will significantly improve user productivity!
  • A new Customization Insights that will tell you the customization level for your application, which customizations are expensive to maintain, which customizations have not been used recently, which product areas a customization affects, and more.
  • PeopleSoft Insights embedded in Fluid Pages and WorkCenters can now be made interactive, allowing users to filter, slice, and dice the data.
  • Global Search has been improved to provide a simplified, productive, and familiar search experience.
  • Indexing improvements include horizontal scaling support for real-time indexing; and a new automatic incremental indexing feature, which will manage when incremental builds should be run as necessary.
  • System-wide Configurable Search Options page provides several common Component Search configurations that can be enabled across the application.

To get your hands on the latest release, use PeopleSoft Cloud Manager Image 19 (with PRP03) to download the new version to your OCI repository and automatically upgrade your PeopleTools environments.
