OCI and OpenTelemetry Integration

OpenTelemetry is becoming an industry standard for collecting and sending telemetry data. By integrating with the OpenTelemetry demo app, Oracle offers connectivity between the open-source framework and OCI’s O&M stack.

Benefits of OCI OpenTelemetry Integration

  • Gaining deep insights into your applications with Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Logging Analytics (LA) and the Monitoring Services.
  • By using a standardise approach there is less chance of vendor lock-in.
  • Reducing development overheads by auto-instrumentation capabilities.
  • Greater troubleshooting capabilities by using machine learning capabilities, and correlating traces, logs and metrics for fast resolution.

A unique approach: Combining Oracle with OpenTelemetry Ecosystem

By combining Oracle with OpenTelemetry ecosystem, Oracle brings extensive benefits:

  • Easy integration with OCI services for a cloud-native experience
  • Leverage OCI security features
  • OCI’s highly scalable infrastructure to handle massive volumes of data
  • O&M Database Management services to gain insights into the performance and health of databases
  • O&M Operational Insights services to help forecast resource utilisation
  • O&M Stack Monitoring service to auto detect anomalies, get alarm notifications and gain visibility into complex applications like E-Business Suite.
  • Dashboards to view metrics, traces and logs in one place
  • Oracle AI capabilities by adding chatbots and AI agents
