Sangam AI Yatra Tour India, July 18–19, 2026 | Bangalore & Hyderabad, India

  • MySQL will be part of the Sangam AI Yatra Tour India, with sessions planned in both Bangalore and Hyderabad.
  • The MySQL program will include a session focused on the latest updates in MySQL 9.7, followed by a community-focused session from MySQL ACE Director Vinicius Grippa, who will highlight selected features and deliver a demo.

MySQL User Group Meetups

MySQL Macedonia Community Meetup #2, June 3, 2026 | Skopje, North Macedonia

  • The MySQL community in Skopje is coming together again for the MySQL Macedonia Community Meetup #2.
  • This meetup will feature two practical sessions for developers and DBAs:
    • MySQL Indexes for Real World Applications — Perica Jakimov
      Learn how InnoDB indexes work, how the optimizer makes decisions, and how to design indexes that improve query performance. The session will cover composite indexes, covering indexes, query plans, and common indexing mistakes.
    • Monitoring Your MySQL Server’s Health Trends — Igor Donchovski
      Learn how to identify performance and reliability issues before they become problems by tracking key metrics such as full table scans, unused indexes, temporary table usage, lock waits, redo log capacity, and buffer pool efficiency.
  • After the talks, attendees are invited to join for pizza, drinks, and networking. Attendance is free, so bring your colleagues and friends.

Upcoming MySQL User Group activities in APAC

During her regional visit to Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, Heather VanCura, Vice President of External Standards & Community Engagement at Oracle, will share the latest MySQL community updates, including the MySQL Community Engagement Strategy, recent contributor initiatives, and highlights from the MySQL Contributor Summit. Each local meetup will also include additional community and technical sessions tailored to the local audience.

Japan – MySQL User Group Japan Meetup

June 30, 2026 | Tokyo, Japan

MyNA / MySQL User Group Japan will host a meetup in Tokyo with Heather VanCura, together with presentations from MySQL Contributor Summit participants and MySQL Rockstar candidates Tomoaki Otsuka (@tom__bo, LINE Yahoo!) and Kento Takeuchi (@lrf141, Cybozu). The event will include community discussion and feedback.

Korea – MySQL User Group Korea Meetup

The Korea MySQL community will host a meetup with Heather VanCura and an additional technical session covering new features in MySQL 9.7 LTS. The event will highlight MySQL community collaboration, roadmap transparency, and opportunities for the Korean MySQL community to engage in future initiatives.

Upcoming MySQL User Group activities in NA and EMEA

Riga, Latvia MySQL User group

The Riga database community will host the database-focused 154th DevClub.lv meetup with three MySQL-related sessions covering corruption troubleshooting, EXPLAIN, and MySQL 9.7 updates. Scott Stroz from Oracle will join remotely with his session “The Next Chapter of MySQL: What’s new in Versions 9.7.”
