Training Tuesday Edition – 6

This week’s blog presents a set of short videos on how to establish secure connections to remote Oracle Linux 8 systems. With secure connections, all traffic transmitted over the wire is encrypted and protected from password sniffing attacks and other outside monitoring.

In these videos, you’ll learn how to use the OpenSSH suite of connectivity tools used for remote login and management. These videos cover OpenSSH features including ProxyJump, tunneling capabilities, key management, authentication methods, and configuration options. You will also learn how to create an SSH tunnel for securely connecting to a VNC Server for remote administration and how to enable and securely use the Gnome 3 Screen Sharing feature.

Here’s the list of videos and the time it takes for you to complete each one:

  • video Using OpenSSH ProxyJump (7 Min)
  • video Using ssh and client-side config with Oracle Linux 8 (7 Min)
  • video Using ssh tunnels with Oracle Linux 8 (9 Min)
  • video Provision user and ssh key with Ansible on Oracle Linux 8 (7 Min)
  • video Install and configure VNC Server on Oracle Linux 8 (6 Min)
  • video Using Gnome 3 screen sharing on Oracle Linux 8 (7 Min)

Be sure to come back for our next edition, which will cover disk management.  New videos are added on an ongoing basis so check back often.
