With more than eight years of experience tucked under his belt, software development veteran Anand Rudrakshi, is no stranger to the ever-evolving world of technology. Throughout his career he’s searched for challenging roles that would afford him the chance to grow both professionally and personally. At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, he feels he’s finally found the company where he can plant roots that will never stop flourishing. Here’s how he’s navigating his unique path in an industry with never-ending opportunities.

Keeping his head above the cloud

Working as a senior member of technical staff for the containers and artifacts team under developer services, Anand and his colleagues help Oracle be at the forefront of the industry. Providing businesses with various solutions to develop and deploy their services efficiently in a containerized fashion, they contribute to the company’s overall success daily. Since beginning his journey here, he’s grown exponentially as a developer.

“Working in the cloud domain, you need to cater to various businesses and their varied needs. You have to think of all the diverse ways your service can be used. You are challenged to cater to these diverse requirements which helps in broadening your perspective,” he shares enthusiastically.

To this day, the amount of opportunity for career progression still surprises him, “For me the opportunities available here have been aplenty. We’re developing new services and rolling out new features so frequently. This has helped me in challenging myself to step up with every new responsibility that was given to me.”

Paving the way towards a perfect work-life balance

Another extremely important element of life as a developer, in Anand’s opinion, is flexibility within your job. In order to operate at your best on a day-to-day basis, personal wellness and feeling supported by your company must be prioritized—something he feels Oracle puts first.

“The various opportunities you get to work on, coupled with a great work life balance makes it one of the best places to work,” he explains.

He continues highlighting the importance of a varied working life by shedding an insight into the many different projects he finds himself delving deep into within his role, “The best thing about working as part of the technical staff is the plethora of problems we get to solve in the cloud domain and the collaborative work we do in achieving our main objective.”

Anand’s advice for new starters

Having spent time in a variety of companies in many different capacities, the keen developer urges new hires to take advantage of the many paths available to them at Oracle, “Working in OCI, you get exposed to different technologies from data base services to cloud business services. You get the option to work on the technology that interests you.”

His final words of wisdom? “Always focus on learning new things and growing at every stage of your career.”
