Two keynotes, two industry defining trends. CEO Safra Catz and CTO Larry Ellison kicked off Oracle Cloud World 2023 with separate addresses that led to one unified message: changing the world through generative AI with customer success at our heart.

AI revolution

“Generative AI—is it the most important new computer technology ever?” Larry asked a packed venue in Las Vegas.

“Probably. One thing’s for certain. We’re about to find out because countless billions of dollars are being invested in generative AI and large language models.”

“Oracle has been using AI for a very, very long time—many years. But this is different. Generative AI is a revolution. It is a breakthrough. It’s transformational. It’s fundamentally changing things at Oracle.”

“I’m going to start by telling you what I think comes next, which is a worldwide race to build what comes next, to build better AI—still better AI, which will deliver a better future”.

He also expanded on Oracle’s place in this new world—as early adopter, innovator, and leader—before going into detail on how our Generation 2 Cloud was well placed to bring AI into future business applications.

Relationships matter

Safra meanwhile put the spotlight back on customer relationships by catching up with leadership at Uber, Aon, Loblaw Companies, and other prestigious partners.

“We’ve really tried to reorient our entire company around you, around making you successful,” Safra shared. “Today’s keynote is really focused on all of you, on teaching and learning and sharing and showing what’s possible when you have the right technology and the right mindset.”

It’s a message that touched every aspect of this year’s CloudWorld and drove home a determination to put the latest innovations to work through the power of relationships.
