Hi all. It’s that time of year again where we reflect on the amazing advancements and updates in the world of Oracle’s Intelligent Advisor. 2024 has been an incredible journey, and we’re excited to share some of the highlights with you.
The game-changers
The feature that moved the needle on what’s possible with Intelligent Advisor this year was:
- Decision service input/output descriptions, enabling Intelligent Advisor to provide accurate, transparent advice even within an AI-powered LLM chatbot – a small but mighty change! See it in action here.
The crowd-pleasers
We LOVE your feedback. If you missed our Product Strategy Council events, or direct meetings, make it a resolution to connect with us in 2025 so we can get your enhancement suggestions on our Christmas present wish list. Here are 10 features implemented this year, suggested at these events and customer meets, that proved especially popular:
- Authoring;
- Custom functions in Policy Modeling. Rule authors can now define their own functions to be used across the OPM policy model.
- Test interview session data. This is one of my favorites. If you are testing your interview embedded in another application, Ctrl+F7 will export all the current data in the interview (included loaded data) into an XDS file you can use for test cases or troubleshooting via your OPM Debugger.
- Policy Modeling global search and replace. For all of those rule and screen developers who have been asked to make a minor text change across the whole project, just before the project is due to go-live, we gotcha.
- Plus a ton of new functions added to Policy Modeling and decision services.
- Advice experiences and processing;
- Updated flow component allowing for richer advice experiences on mobile devices.
- Ability to extend session timeout via interview extension. For the multi-taskers, you can now extend interviews beyond 30 minutes of inactivity.
- High-volume batch decisioning;
- Faster decision service processing. Yes we put running shoes on the jaguar and now decision services run even faster than OPM rules so our high-volume batch processing customers can complete their monthly processes even faster.
- Lifecycle and administration;
- Separate Hub roles for Permissions and Connections administrators. Meet separation of duties requirements by allowing permissions and connections to be administered by separate individuals.
- Full name shown when assigning workspace permissions.
- New Test Suites REST API for integration of rule project testing into your organization’s CI/CD processes.

The high-achievers
Congratulations to our customers who went live for the first time this year (the largest I heard of was with ~2500 interviews!) and with significant project updates. Also a shout out to the organizations who made the leap from on-premises to Cloud Intelligent Advisor (ahead of premiere support ending in September 2025). Thanks to our certified partners and consultants who assist day-to-day with all of the above. If you have a story to tell, or would like some input on your plans, reach out to us on the Intelligent Advisor development team – we always enjoy connecting.
From all of us at Oracle, happy holidays and a wonderful New Year. Looking forward to working with you again in 2025.
