Intelligent Advisor Release 25A (12.2.38) is now available for public cloud customers.

Be sure to also review the features added to 24D since our last post.

Compare and combine Word rule document changes (Monthly Update 2)

Word rule authors now have a more fine-grained way to review and combine changes between development versions. Utilizing the Combine Documents feature available in Word with Policy Modeling, authors can compare a Word rule document in a Policy Modeling project with versions from a Hub branch (for example, with baseline and latest) to see what the differences are. This can be useful to focus on changes of interest in the Hub project since the last download to the local project was performed, and also to simplify the merging of bug fixes, policy changes and other updates that happen simultaneously in related development streams. When all revisions have been reviewed, the combined document including revisions can be saved over the original rule document.

Repair an Oracle Fusion Connection (Monthly Update 2)

Broken connections with Intelligent Advisor occur when Fusion sites are refreshed which overwrites topology manager entries. Hub Connection administrators can now repair these broken Oracle Fusion connections more easily via a new Repair Fusion connection menu option. This resends the Intelligent Advisor information to the Fusion site for reauthorization.

Revert all changes when uploading a Policy Modeling project (Monthly Update 1)

Policy Modeling authors working collaboratively on projects can now revert all changes on upload to the current Hub version. This is functionally equivalent to clicking Revert Modification on every change individually, just with a single button.

Dedicated rule loop debugger in Policy Modeling (Monthly Update 1)

Authors of Policy Modeling rules can now launch a dedicated rule loop debugger when self-referential rules fail to stabilize during testing. This allows the chain of evaluation events to be reviewed to understand how the values in each rule change between iterations.

Record reference support for If() and Default() functions in web-authored rules

The If() and Default() functions in web-authored rules can now accept (and return) record references. This makes these functions useful when using value lists.

Fusion connections can use an Oracle Identity Domain (IDCS) confidential client for Hub API access

Hub Connections administrators can now specify an existing Oracle Identity Domain (IDCS) confidential client when creating an Oracle Fusion connection. This is required for Hubs using Oracle Identity Domain as identity provider. The confidential client id and secret will be passed to Fusion as part of the connection creation and those details can be used by Fusion to call the Intelligent Advisor REST APIs for interview information.

Chromium browser replaced with Microsoft Edge browser in Policy Modeling

The Chromium browser that has previously been included as a static component in each Policy Modeling release has been replaced with the Microsoft Edge browser which is functionally equivalent. The Edge browser has the advantage that it is evergreen and receives automatic Microsoft updates to stay on the latest and most secure platform. The actual version of Microsoft Edge used by Policy Modeling is determined by the user’s Windows Update service. Like with Chromium, the Edge version is displayed in the Policy Modeling diagnostics so that it can be used to diagnose issues.
