Oracle Delivers the Latest in Customer Application Infrastructure with the General Availability of Oracle Fusion Middleware 14.1.2
Oracle has just announced the General Availability of the next release of Oracle Fusion Middleware, version 14.1.2. Oracle Fusion Middleware is Oracle’s digital business platform for the enterprise, comprising a suite of products that enable businesses to efficiently create and run agile, intelligent applications in client-server, web-based and cloud environments. With this release of Oracle Fusion Middleware 14.1.2, Oracle is delivering the latest in customer application infrastructure, including support for deployments in Oracle Cloud and on cloud native technologies, and is extending its commitment to long term support for the platform and its customers.
Oracle Fusion Middleware 14.1.2’s new features start with certification on the latest Long-Term Support (LTS) releases of Java 17 and 21, which provide improved productivity and performance, and long support timeframes. The 14.1.2 platform is also based on updated releases of Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Coherence 14.1.2 with updated feature support and advanced security. All products are certified for use with updated operating systems and databases. The platform provides new integrations with Oracle Cloud and Oracle Cloud Services, broad support for cloud native deployments in Kubernetes, and enhancements in each of the individual products. Existing customers can easily leverage these capabilities by moving their current applications and configurations to 14.1.2. Well-defined upgrade paths and tooling provide a seamless upgrade experience.
Having upgraded to 14.1.2, customers will continue to benefit from their investment in Oracle Fusion Middleware for years to come. Oracle has designated Oracle Fusion Middleware 14.1.2 as a Long-Term Support (LTS) release, providing eight years of error correction support. Fusion Middleware customers can continue to enjoy superior application performance, reliability, and security today with a clear path to next-generation cloud technologies when ready to make that move.
With the current version of Oracle Fusion Middleware, customers gain the flexibility to deploy existing applications on premises or in the cloud while preserving their existing investments. “With Oracle Fusion Middleware 14.1.2, Oracle provides customers with the tools to modernize their existing infrastructure. New Features and Functionality in Oracle Fusion Middleware 14.1.2 include:
- Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Coherence: Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Coherence 14.1.2 include support for Java SE 17 and 21, Jakarta EE 8 compatibility, new load balancing features and rich data grid processing to provide improved functionality and performance. New defaults make deployments more secure, with a new console for improvement manageability. Support for Oracle Database 23ai enables use of the latest Oracle Database capabilities. Integration with Oracle Cloud services, Helidon-based microservices and updated Kubernetes support give customers the flexibility to modernize application deployments at the time and pace that they choose.
- Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle BPM Suite: The application integration and process automation products in Fusion Middleware 14.1.2 consisting of Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle BPM Suite along with Oracle Service Bus, Oracle BPEL Manager, and Oracle Managed File Transfer, will see the introduction of Apache Kafka adapter and enhancements to hybrid integration pattern (SOA Suite), DesignTime@RunTime (BPM Suite) and more!
- Oracle WebCenter: The latest Oracle WebCenter 14.1.2 includes WebCenter Portal, WebCenter Content & WebCenter Sites, delivering enhanced search with Oracle OpenSearch and Elasticsearch. Kubernetes containerization improves deployment efficiency and reduces costs. WebCenter now utilizes Generative AI from the Oracle 23ai Database. Integration with Object Storage simplifies OCI migration and boosts disaster recovery. WebCenter Enterprise Capture optimizes batch operations and automates document processing through the Microsoft Graph API, reducing errors and improving productivity.
- Oracle Enterprise Data Quality (EDQ): Enterprise Data Quality 14.1.2 includes extended APIs covering Case Management Administration and case exports, support for AWS Roles Anywhere authentication, and improved manageability and operability options such as REST access to system reports and MBeans. It also wraps in a large range of features that have been released in bundle patches for EDQ 12, including Import and Export APIs, Embedded Derby database support, enhanced encryption, support for pluggable credential stores including OCI Vault, and AWS and GCP Secrets Management, support for clustering on Tomcat, added connectivity including Snowflake, Amazon SQS and OCI Streams, improved cloud object store connectivity and compatibility, and much more.
- Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle Application Development Framework: The 14.1.2 release includes new versions of Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle ADF) built to work with newer versions of the Java Development Kit (JDK), WebLogic Server, and the Oracle Database (including Oracle cloud database).
- Oracle ODI: Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 14.1.2 the latest version of Oracle’s strategic Data Integration offering, provides superior developer productivity and improved user experience. ODI is a comprehensive data integration platform that covers all data integration requirements: from high-volume and high-performance batch loads, to event-driven, trickle-feed integration processes, to SOA-enabled data services.
- Oracle Forms and Reports: Oracle Forms 14.1.2 contains numerous new features including a variety of new UI widgets and other new UI-related functionality, support for interacting with REST services, and many other exciting additions. In addition to new runtime functionality there are also various ease-of-use improvments to the Forms Builder and Forms Standalone Launcher. Oracle Reports also continues to be included and supported and has been updated to be compatible with the rest of the FMW stack (new Java version, new DB client version, etc.).
